History
The 1999 eviction of 12 families from their Cave Creek casitas led to a community-wide assessment which validated the need for affordable housing in the area. Across Arizona, rapid population growth has strained the short supply of affordable housing. Arizona is the 17th most expensive market in the U.S., and an estimated 1.25 million Arizonans need affordable housing.
